Living Without Coffee Made Easy
In the past, I was a real coffee fanatic. Not because it was delicious or could be prepared in so many different ways. No. Rather, because it "started my machine" in the morning. Without coffee, I simply couldn't get going.
No matter whether I had slept 8 or 6 hours. If I didn't have coffee in the morning, it felt like chronic fatigue.
I managed to break this habit. Living without coffee isn't difficult at all. Yes, I didn't expect this either. But it can happen quickly. And do you know what helped me? → Implementing a new routine!
The Simple Water Solution
The only thing your body really needs after waking up is water! And plenty of it. So for me, it's a 0.5-liter glass of still water right after getting up. I prefer still water because I can drink it faster than carbonated water. Also, I rarely drink tap water.
You'll notice - at the latest after 7-10 days - that you'll start the day wide awake without coffee (provided you also sleep well and ideally long).
Coffee as a Treat, Not a Crutch
I don't want to say that you should hate coffee from now on. No! I still love coffee. However, I now appreciate its effect much more. When I treat myself to coffee now, 1. I enjoy it to the fullest and 2. I use it as a proper motivation booster. When used correctly, coffee can immensely increase your productivity. Just be careful not to fall back into old patterns.
Your 10-Day Challenge
Try it out! Make it a challenge. Leave out coffee for 10 consecutive mornings and instead drink a 0.5-liter glass of still water right after getting up.
You'll be amazed at how naturally energized you feel, how much clearer your mind becomes, and how much better you sleep at night. Your body will thank you for breaking the caffeine cycle.
